My Treasure by Will Yothers

My husband is a man with few words. When he said he loves me, he meant he loves me. He will take care of me and will die for me. He does not flatter or say something that makes everyone feels good. When he says something nice about someone, I know he means it. He wrote this poem for me.

My "Love" is like a diamond
Sparkling in a stony garden,
Every facet flashing fire,
A rainbow of brilliant hues.

Often appearing as fragile
As a piece of crystal.
A glittering inner strength
Unrivaled in all the earth.

My "Love's" fiery brilliance
Causes all others to dim.
None can withstand the radiance
Of her brilliant appearance.
Discovering this treasure
Gives its finder great pleasure,
Its undiminished value
Never to be relinquished

Soon this gem will set aglow
My home so ordinary,
Giving it a bright sparkle,
Filling it with her grandeur.

The fun of winter

We went to sports authority Thursday night to buy some ski outfits. We planned to go to Whitetail Resort in Pennsylvania on Saturday. We looked around and we couldn't find anything that we wanted( price that we wanted) since their prices are expensive. I was really about to tell Hubby to wait until next year to go to the resort since we were not in a hurry, and besides, the boys are still very small to ski with us anyway, I would shop during the summer and probably I could get a better buy then. Then I saw ski pants on one rack, and it was 50% off. I checked the price. Wow! it was $50. It was a good deal; I was so pleased. Two pants for 50 bucks, not bad at all. Then we had to buy gloves for the boys, 15 dollars each. Hubby said to go ahead. A night before we went, I decided to stop by a store close to our place to exchange an item. On the way home, I heard my son Matt say something like " You bought another clothes again.... doesn't make sense to buy more clothes when you have a lot already." Coming from a 4-years-old, that was something. I looked at my hubby hoping he would say something to enlighten him, but he was so quiet like he was agreeing with what Matt said or he just ignored it. I've learned how to watch our pennies and spend them very wisely. That is something I learned from Hubby. When he said, " We can't afford it," it means we don't need it.

How lovely to think about the way our Creator God planned everything so carefully and perfectly, everything with a plan. As His highest creation, 'we are fearfully and wonderfully made.'God's accuracy may be observed in the hatching of eggs. For example,

The eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;
Those of the canary in 14 days;
Those of the barnyard hen in 21 days.
The eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;
Those of the mallard in 35 days.
The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days. (Notice, they are all divisible by seven).
God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant.
The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other Quadruped is so made. God planned that this animal would have a huge body, too large to live on two legs. For this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily. The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first. A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first. How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation! God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of sections and segments, as well as in the number of grains. Each watermelon has an even number of strips on the rind. Each orange has an even number of segments. Each ear of corn has an even number of rows. Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains. Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number. The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all kinds of weather. All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks The Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundredfold - all even numbers.God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day, so that Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed! Thus the Lord in His wonderful grace can arrange the life that is entrusted to His care in such a way that it will carry out His purposes and plans, and will be fragrant with His presence. Only the God-planned life is successful. Only the life given over to the care of the Lord is safe.*Author unknown ALWAYS REMEMBER TO PRAY AND GIVE THANKS TO GOD THE GIVER OF ALL GOOD THINGS! May The Lord Gently Wrap You in His Love.
