Eat Healthy!

                One year ago, my husband learned that his cholesterol levels were a bit high.  Having two young children to think about, he immediately set out to control his cholesterol intake.  Along with that, he just became very aware of some things he needed to change in his diet if he wanted to avoid serious health problems later in life.  Besides cutting back on cholesterol, he decided that it was important to add a good source of fiber to his diet.  Hotdogs, bacon, sausage and butter became foods of the past in his diet.  Cheese and chips also disappeared and eggbeaters replaced eggs.  Oatmeal and snack bars with high amounts of fiber became a source of fiber in his diet along with green vegetables.  Within six weeks, he had lost approximately sixteen pounds and his stomach, which was becoming quite noticeable, disappeared.  The secret to his success in maintaining a healthy weight has been his ability to find healthy yet tasty replacements for most of the foods he has cut out.

                Now he frequently eats snack bars high in fiber in the evening rather than some other snack, which was high in fats with little fiber.  He is anxious to try the new Quaker Soft Baked Bar, a tasty and wholesome food that is high in fiber.  Coming in two delicious flavors, Cinnamon Pecan Bread and Banana Nut Bread, these bars make a wonderful breakfast snack.  My little boys will love to eat them with milk for breakfast.  I myself am particularly fond of cinnamon and pecans, so I am interested it trying that one for myself.  One of these bars along with a sandwich and coffee would make a wonderful lunch during my next semester of schooling.
